A recent study released from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden concludes that when women go through three In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) cycles, nearly two thirds go on to have babies. (The success rate after a single attempt of IVF is one-third.)
The study showed that the probability of having a baby was:
35% after one IVF cycle
52% after two IVF cycles and
63% after three IVF cycles
The study followed almost a thousand women during their IVF treatment at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden and emphasizes that sticking with treatment can increase your chance of having a baby.
This is encouraging news for those who have failed a cycle or two of IVF. Science is on the side of following a course-of-treatment approach for IVF success. Our own AttainTM IVF Refund Program embraces that approach by providing 3 IVF cycles (and 3 frozen egg cycles) for a single, discounted fee. And if treatment is unsuccessful, you receive a refund. Many of our patients tell us that our program also helps reduce stress related to IVF treatment!
