Because we know gathering information on fertility treatment and procedures is just a part of your journey to parenthood, we’re happy to introduce Sharon who heads up our Attain IVF customer care department where she helps guide hopeful parents-to-be along their personal path toward having a baby. Today, Sharon’s going to be guest blogging for us on the topic of taking your first step.– Maureen

Thanks, Maureen. Yes, we get hundreds of calls a week from people just like you and many of them feel confused and uncertain about where to start. It can be frustrating trying to figure out the “if’s, and’s and but’s” regarding your infertility. What type of treatment do I need? How much is it going to cost? You’ve read the websites, heard other’s stories and know the procedures can be expensive. It’s enough to overwhelm anyone and the unknown can be intimidating.

Taking that first step is often the hardest part. The great news is that you’ll start to relax once you’ve made the decision to meet with a fertility specialist who can diagnose your infertility and work with you to create a treatment plan. Your plan will include a treatment team that will guide you throughout your journey. Every clinic also has a financial counselor who will then work with you to assess your insurance and financing options.

You are not alone and knowledge is power. Once you’ve had your first appointment, you’ll have a team with you throughout your journey. If you haven’t located a fertility clinic in your area, we can help find one and schedule an appointment for you. Just call us at 1-800-882-5483. And if IVF treatment is right for you and you choose to participate in our Attain IVF program, you’ll also have our team at your side!
