Sharon’s offered to share her response to a conversation she frequently has with callers who’ve already experienced a failed IVF cycle. This will be Part 1 of a 2-part series. So take it away, Sharon! — Maureen

Happy Thursday, all! Hard to believe we’re already well into the first full week of 2010. Our Attain Call Center phones are ringing steadily with patients making plans toward having a baby in the year ahead. This week I thought I’d share with you a call we regularly receive since it sparks an enlightening conversation about IVF success rates. We speak with many women who believe they will be successful on their 1st IVF cycle, only to feel such disappointment when they aren’t.

Unfortunately, statistics show the following: According to SART, 60% of women under 35 and 70% of women ages 35-37 will need more than 1 IVF treatment cycle to have a baby.

Many of these women call us right after learning about their failed cycle and despite their disappointment they are continuing to look for a solution that will provide a greater chance for success. This is the part of our job that we love most: telling hopeful parents-to-be that there is a better path to parenthood.

You’ll dramatically increase your chance of success when you’re able to commit to a multiple cycle treatment plan rather than going the traditional pay-as-you-go route. Many patients who pay as they go drop out of treatment too soon because of stress as well as financial concerns about how much to continue spending.

Multiple-cycle IVF programs (also called course-of-treatment programs), like AttainTM IVF, provide 6 tries for a one-time, discounted fee so financial uncertainties are no longer a concern. This peace of mind allows you the time to focus on what is important: your treatment.

We are here to help, offer encouragement even during the most difficult times, and guidance along a proven path to greater success. 75% of our Refund Program participants bring home a baby!

As a follow up next week, I’ll talk more about the financial and emotional benefits of a multiple-cycle treatment approach. Stay tuned!
