Good day everyone! Well, it’s Customer Care Thursday and I am happy to be here. I wanted to answer one of the most asked questions our Call Center hears: What is needed to qualify for the Attain IVF Refund Program? So here’s the what, where and how…

  • You would need to see a fertility specialist within our network.
  • Your doctor needs to recommend IVF.
  • The Attain IVF Program application is submitted as a courtesy on your behalf by your practice. We in Customer Care can help coordinate the completion of your application at the practice.

Our Clinical Department determines your Attain IVF Program eligibility based on clinical guidelines:

  • The ability to complete all 3 fresh IVF cycles prior to your 38th birthday, (unless using Donor Egg).
  • Day 3 hormone tests, FSH and E2, within normal limits.
  • Semen analysis
  • Evaluation of fallopian tubes and uterine cavity.
  • Body Mass index of less than 37
  • Medical history including previous IUI/IVF cycles, highest recorded FSH, pregnancy loss history and a non-smoker (for a minimum of 3 months).

Our Clinical department determines your Attain IVF Program eligibility and the Customer Care department will contact you with the results. We then let you know what your program options are.

If you do not qualify for the Attain IVF Refund Program, you may be able to participate in the Attain IVF Multi-Cycle Program, which is offered at select fertility centers for patients whose doctor recommends IVF treatment using their own eggs.

I hope this information has been helpful to you. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to blog me and I will answer as quickly as possible. Have a great weekend, everyone. Signing off for now. My best to you always, Sharon

Your blog keeps getting better and better! Your older articles are not as good as newer ones you have a lot more creativity and originality now. Keep it up!

Are there ever any exceptions to the age limit for the Attain IVF Program? Is it possible, considering all factors, that a 39 year old woman starting her first IVF cycle would be approved?

  3. Thanks for your reply, Heather. This is a question that is frequently asked. Although people over the age of 38 would not be a candidate for the Attain Refund Program, we do offer, at certain participating centers, the Multi Cycle IVF Program. This program is offered to all patients whose doctor recommends IVF treatment using their own eggs (or those not eligible for the Refund Program). Take care.

That is nice to definitely find a site where the blogger knows what they are talking about.

  5. I’ve been visiting your blog for a while now and I always find a gem in your new posts. Thanks for sharing.

Is there a weight limit for attain ivf?

  7. Jen – For the Attain IVF refund program specifically, you need a BMI below 37. For the multi-cycle program there is no specific required BMI, but you may run into specific clinic requirements. Many clinics require a BMI of below 40 for IVF. But it varies from doctor to doctor, so I’d check with the clinic you’re interested in as well.

    Best of luck!

Does a previous failed cycle of IVF exclude you from the program?

  9. Danielle – For the refund program, they do review previous IUI and IVF cycle information. But whether or not you qualify is based on your entire medical record, not just that. For the Attain multi-cycle program, there are no medical criteria. It’s open to anyone who plans to do IVF with their own eggs. Best of luck to you! If you have any questions, our customer care center is always happy to help as well.

It says the inspection of the uterus and fallopian tubes. What if the reason, which is in my case you have to have IVF only because you got your tubes tied? I got a bilateral tubal ligation and bilateral fibriectomy. Does that mean I would not qualify if I had a tubal ligation? Also does it matter if I had a child born with a birth defect?

  11. Jennifer – I’ve referred your question on to our clinical team and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

  12. Jennifer – I checked with our clinical team for an answer to your question. Here is the response:

“A tubal ligation would not disqualify the patient from the refund program. We would need to know more about the birth defect to answer the question about the refund program. But the patient could participate in the Multi-cycle program.”

I hope this helps! Best of luck to you!
