Infertility From the Male Point of View

Good Morning, my friends! It’s Sharon, it’s Thursday and away we go…

It’s interesting; when I speak to others about my work here at the Attain® IVF Call Center most assume our conversations are with women. Let me enlighten you by saying we speak with gentlemen, too. According to RESOLVE:

“Infertility is not solely a women’s problem. About 30% of infertility cases involve male factor problems alone, and 30% of cases involve problems with both partners.”

Male infertility is much more common than people realize and just like female infertility the emotions are complex. Men struggling with infertility, in general, have fewer resources than women. RESOLVE, The National Infertility Associations website has a wealth of information for those experiencing what is called a “male factor”.

Unlike women, who may feel more comfortable speaking with friends, counselors and family members about their infertility issues, men may feel uncomfortable seeking outside help. You are not alone and help is available. Speak with your partner and share your feelings, call your Reproductive Endocrinologist and see if there is a support group for male infertility you can be a part of, or if you prefer, research, research, research. There is a multitude of online resources available to you.

Here at the Attain IVF Call Center, we enjoy connecting with all our prospects and patients and are here to assist you through your journey to parenthood. Please give us a call to learn more about our IVF treatment programs. We can be reached at 1-866-968-7483 and our center is open from 9 – 5 pm, ET Monday – Friday.

Until next time, all my best!

    Hi Christina,
Thank you for your response. My best suggestion to you is to schedule an appointment with a fertility specialist. They are the experts who will help to determine, through examination and testing, what the issue may be. Please visit the http://www.attainivf.com website to find the nearest fertility center. Thank you and please let me know how things are going for you. Take care. Sharon

  5. I have read a few other forums related to this subject in the past few days in doing a research report for school. I have to say that what you’re saying here makes perfect sense and is helping me to get my head around this subject. Do you have any other websites you could recommend to help my research?

  6. Hi Christoper, so glad you found us! Dr. Ku has written quite a bit on male infertility here on Fertility Focus over the last few weeks. You may find them helpful. He also cites his sources, which you can refer to. We also have information on our website, attainfertility.com that you may find useful. Best of luck with your research!
