I am completely addicted to caffeine. I start my day with some tea and move on to Diet Dr. Pepper, liberally interspersed with coffee or Diet Coke.
A few years ago, I remarked to my endocrinologist that I could give up sugar or caffeine, but not both!(I’m diabetic, so sugar isn’t normally a part of my diet.) Nonetheless, I’ve given up caffeine quite a few times. Once in my mid-20′s when I was tired of dealing with post-caffeine buzz headaches, then again every time I’ve gotten pregnant. But I always go back to the caffeine!
In my quest to live a healthier life I’m going to try it again. Today was my last Diet Dr. Pepper for awhile. Now I’m moving on to decaffeinated tea, coffee and lots and lots of water.
