So you took the first step, had your consultation with the fertility doctor and IVF has been recommended.
One of the next steps at the clinic may be to speak with the Financial Coordinator to learn about the costs associated with IVF, whether your insurance covers any of this or if you will be what is called a “self-pay” patient – no insurance and paying out of pocket. You’re generally given this large packet of information that you start reading through like a novel and when you see the pricing list for the IVF treatment options, the following may occur: eyes go wide, a moment of disbelief and a holy macaroni type expletive!
This is normal and what we refer to as “sticker shock.” You will then have the pleasure in knowing that you are expanding your vocabulary with such words as Assisted Hatching, Blast Culture, Cryopreservation/Storage and can we all say Introcytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). Sounds like stuff out of a Sci-fi movie. After you have recovered from absorbing all this information, reality sets in and the bottom line becomes apparent; how will we pay for this?
For those patients without insurance coverage, continuing to seek treatment is based on their ability to pay. This is where the Attain® IVF Programs can help. We offer a proven, course of treatment plan that increases your chances for success, by providing multiple IVF cycles for a single, discounted fee. Depending on the Program you participate in, you will pay between 30-40% less than the same exact treatment plan if you were to pay for it on a cycle-by-cycle basis. We accept several forms of payment including financing through SpringstoneSM Patient Financing, with lowest available interest rates and terms up to 84 months.
Take a deep breath, gather your thoughts and give us a call. We will work as best as we can to provide program information, financing options and support along your path to parenthood.
We are dedicated to your success!
Until next time, all my best.

Tooba – Has your doctor spoken with you about using donor eggs? Fertility declines dramatically in your 40′s and sometimes it’s an alternative that can allow a successful IVF cycle. Costs vary from clinic to clinic and I really have no idea of even a ballpark in other countries but your doctor’s office should be able to give you the information. Best of luck to you!
Sonji – It only covers fertility treatments with your reproductive endocrinologist. After about 6-8 weeks, your RE will hand you over to your OB/GYN for care during your pregnancy.
We have a wonderful clinic in Dallas http://dallasivf.com.
I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have had 5 IUI’s with no pregnancy. I was told by my dr that IVF was my best option. When I applied to the Attain program I was deceived by the advertising that it would be easy to be accepted into the program. I was denied. I don’t understand how only one person can apply and not the couple. I am very frustrated by this.
Trying to have a child takes two people and only one person can apply for the Attain program????
