Today we launch “Tour a Clinic,” a new blog feature spotlighting the practices in the Attain Fertility® Network. Please join us on a slideshow tour today of the beautiful new facilities at UNC Fertility. We also introduce the UNC Fertility doctors along with an overview of their specialties.
What Makes UNC Fertility Unique? Our Physicians
UNC Fertility is unique as we combine a state-of-the art, private-practice setting with a group of fertility specialists recognized as academic leaders in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
The doctors here at UNC Fertility represent a wide range of expertise. All of the doctors in our group are board-certified, full-time faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Each one of us is actively involved in teaching and research.
We introduce the doctors at UNC Fertility:
- Dr. Anne Steiner MD, MPH is a nationally known expert in the field of Reproductive Epidemiology, with a substantial, federally funded research program on ovarian reserve and other factors affecting natural fertility.
- Dr. Steven Young, MD, PhD is a nationally recognized expert on endometrial biology and currently leads a laboratory based, federally-funded project combining the areas of progesterone action, endometriosis-related infertility, and the effects of inflammation on endometrial function.
- Dr. Jennifer Mersereau, MD, MSCI, in addition to being the medical director of our IVF program, has a keen interest and expertise in clinical research with active, funded projects in the field of fertility preservation.
- Last, but certainly not least, Dr. Marc Fritz, MD, our division director, is widely recognized as a leader in our field of reproductive endocrinology. He continues to have a large, international impact on clinical practice in the field of infertility. He is one of two authors of the most popular reproductive endocrinology and infertility textbook and is a leader in national and international fertility-related organizations.
Here at UNC Fertility we combine academic research and clinical expertise to offer what we believe is the best, most evidence-based, up-to-date fertility care in the region.
